We have great news – a new training has started! After the success of the Ecotec Academy for fitters, the time has come for practical classes for another group of specialists: construction machinery operators. And it is the Ecotec Academy for operators that is the subject of this post. We invite you to familiarize yourself with our new training project!

Why was the Academy for operators created?

The Ecotec Academy for Operators was created for the participants of the Team Talent Program (TTP), as part of which we develop the skills of our current employees. In a nutshell, TTP’s mission is to select talented photovoltaic fitters from our staff with a “hand” to operate construction machinery. People who want to develop new technical skills go through a special process and have a chance to be promoted to the position of operator.
(You can find more information about TTP and how to apply here.) Aspractice is the best form of learning, we have found that dedicated training on equipment and a yard tailored to our specific needs will best prepare new construction machine operators for work. Hence the idea to create another variant of the company’s Academy.

Academy for operators – where, how, when?

We have prepared a training ground for future machine operators near our headquarters in Warsaw. We provide the participants of the Academy with transport (from the headquarters to the training site, to meals and to the hotel), as well as food and accommodation. Training groups are small or small – maximum 2 people, thanks to which the trainees learn how to operate construction machinery faster and easier.
Our committed trainer Łukasz is very helpful and open to questions, so the classes are conducted in a stress-free, pleasant atmosphere. Trainings are held regularly. We implement two Academies in one week. The course lasts 2.5 days and follows a fixed pattern: I Academy: – Monday, Tuesday – meeting at the company’s headquarters, transport to the square, training from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. + lunch break around 12:00 p.m., – Wednesday – training from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. + lunch approx.
12:00.
After lunch, the training will be completed and transported to the company’s headquarters. II Academy: – Wednesday – transport from the headquarters, lunch around 12:00 and training from 13:00 to 17:00, – Thursday and Friday – meeting at the company’s headquarters, transport to the yard, training from 9:00 – 17:00 + lunch break around 12:00. After the training, transportation to the company’s headquarters. When declaring your willingness to participate in the Academy, you can specify which days of the week suit you better: whether you prefer to train from Monday to Wednesday or from Wednesday to Friday. Apply and we will try to offer you a convenient date for the Academy!

What does the Academy look like for operators?

When creating the Academy for Operators, we focused on 100% practice. It is very important to us that operators feel confident both when controlling the machine and when dealing with the transport of bulky items. That’s why we start the training with the technical basics, taking the time to familiarize participants with the machine’s construction and the practical aspects of its operation. Then we move on to practical exercises and stay with them for 2 training days. As part of the classes, participants overcome an “obstacle course” prepared by us. On a real construction site, they would drive machines between structures for panels or pallets with materials. In our yard, we replaced these real obstacles with bollards of various heights and pallets with construction parts. It can be said that our track resembles a maneuvering area at a driving school. Loading and unloading supplies is also an important part of the exercise, so we have a small farm trailer and “Mauzers” (tanks) that mimic pallets of solar panels. Academy participants thus learn to lift, transport and lower these pallets in the yard.

Who runs the Academy for operators?

The training is conducted by Łukasz, one of the first operators at Ecotec! Luke has been with us for more than 10 years and has followed a career path from operator to site manager. Now, as a practical training coordinator, he shares his invaluable experience, helping us train new talents.

How can I participate in the operator academy?

The path of signing up for the training depends on the situation you are currently in: – you are our employee -> apply for the Team Talent Program, instructions can be found here, – you want to join us -> contact our HR department to talk about the possibility of employment in our company and the possibility of participating in the training before starting work. Or maybe you are just planning to change your career and want to start working as a photovoltaic installer? Apply for the Academy for fitters, the next edition of which starts in March 2024! You can find more information about this Academy here.
