Ecotec Academy – who was it created for?
Our company is growing rapidly, and as a result, we are constantly looking for new photovoltaic fitters to hire for further projects. We also checked that according to data from the Occupational Barometer from 2022, there is a shortage of building installation fitters, including photovoltaic fitters , in Poland. So we used our knowledge and capabilities to help you change your career without worrying about being unemployed. We coordinate the work of over 225 fitters, so we will tell you how to become a medal-winning photovoltaic fitter. During the Ecotec Academy , we will prepare you for the work of a fitter in 2 days, and perhaps also hire you if you stand out in the training. The November edition of the Ecotec Academy confirmed our belief that we know how to do it and that we do it well!
How did we organize the first edition of the Ecotec Academy?
The idea of a two-day, very practical training appeared in our heads around August. From that moment on, we worked on the training plan and the benefits it should bring to the participants. All this so that you can learn how to become a photovoltaic installer in just 2 days. We knew from the beginning that the heart of the training would be the practical part, during which participants would learn how to install photovoltaics in realistic conditions. That is why we have prepared a plot of land with an imitation of a construction site, which we have provided with the necessary structural elements and construction tools. So you could say that we literally built the Ecotec Academy from scratch with our bare hands! A very diverse group of our employees was involved in the preparation of the Ecotec Academy – from warehouse workers and fitters, through the HR department and administration, to operational directors. However, regardless of the divisions of positions, we all had one thing in common: we wanted to help the first participants to develop their careers as photovoltaic fitters as soon as possible.
How did the training at the Ecotec Academy go?
Our two-day training in November combined theory with a predominance of practice. Assembly exercises alone accounted for as much as 68% of the total time of the Ecotec Academy. Below we have described a report from both training days, and the full training program can be found here.
Day I training – 63% theory and 37% practice
On the first day of the training (November 21, 2022), we picked up all participants from our headquarters and transported them by company bus to the training room. 
The training was started by Marta, our HR Manager. Marta welcomed the participants, told them about the idea of the Academy and the mission of the company. Then Paweł, a specialist in the field of OHS, who led the part on the work safety of the photovoltaic fitter. He was followed by Krzysiek, who discussed the installation of the panels. He drew attention to the most common mistakes on the construction site and suggested how to properly perform the construction. In the meantime, there were a few short coffee breaks, and at lunchtime we transported the participants to a restaurant, where we had lunch together. 
After lunch, we started the practical part on the previously prepared plot, where we familiarized the participants with the basic tools and construction elements.
At the end of the first day of the training, the participants dismantled the previously prepared structure on their own. Of course, everything took place under the watchful eye of Krzysiek, a specialist in the field of OHS and Kamil, Technical Director. After the training, we drove the participants to the hotel, where they could regenerate before another day full of challenges!
Day II of the training – 100% practice
On the second day of the training (November 22, 2022), when the participants were already after the hotel breakfast, we transported them again for outdoor exercises. Practical classes were conducted by Tomek, our experienced site manager. Tomek started with a practical OHS training and showed the most common mistakes of fitters during work.
Then the participantscontinued the exercises on the assembly of structures and modules, until the last minutes of the training. After the exercises, we drove the participants of the Academy to our company’s headquarters and from there each of them continued to return home on their own. Just a few days later, all participants saw each other again, but this time as our employees and newly minted photovoltaic fitters… … and so, thanks to participation in the training, they went on their first trip to provide the world with quiet energy straight from the Sun!
How did the participants rate their participation in the Ecotec Academy?
All 7 gentlemen unanimously considered the training great and rated it a five with a plus! What makes us happy the most is that the participants praised us for the great, friendly atmosphere during the training and good organization of meals and accommodation. “You don’t know how to become a photovoltaic installer?
Apply to Ecotec and they will take care of the rest! ” – this is how one of the participants summed up the survey, and we are glad that we could help him. 
We are very pleased with the first edition, because the group was very active and involved at every stage of the training. We were positively surprised by the number of accurate questions they asked us!
